Nervosa are a six piece progressive folk band from St Austell, who launched onto the live scene in October 2007 after spending a year together writing two albums worth of material.
Nervosa performed at the Oxjam Big Top Weekend, and supported three signed bands, darlings of the NME, Sons and Daughters, The Victorian English Gentlemans Club, and Jimbob from Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine in their first run of gigs, with their live set being described in the press as “an assured set of hypnotically rich and textural songs reminiscent of Radiohead and Arcade Fire”.
Fresh Magazine wrote that Nervosas demo demonstrated their “immense creativity”, with songs that were “monumental in their delivery, and lending something new with every listen”.
Nervosa performed at the Cornish heat of the Red Stripe Music Awards 2008, alongside 5 other bands, with the West Briton describing the line up as “the best of Cornish music”.
Nervosa won an award for Funky Moped on the IAC Music site, beating The Chemical Brothers and NIN for "Best Industrial/Beat Rock Song of 2007"
Nervosa are currently in the studio recording their debut album, which should be completed for release by the summer subscribe to their myspace blog to keep updated with information.
