Hi, thanks
for taking the time to visit Amplifeye today!
Amplifeye is an online organisation with the intention of helping
promote unsigned artists and to help bridge the chasm between the
artist and the industry via its many services and websites.
Amplifeye began life back in early 2003 when I, Dan Mitchell, thought
it would be a good idea if there were a central resource available
to people involved in unsigned live music circles.
The site has been through many facelifts along the way, but here
we are at what I think is the finished product. A self-made skinnable
site with completely dynamic and stable infrastructure. Amplifeye's
development as a website has in many ways coincided with my learning
curve of website programming. As I learn new tips, tricks, and
languages, I have tried to accommodate these within the Amplifeye
website(s).
The creator of Amplifeye is Dan Mitchell (me!). I have no website/programming
educational qualifications, and am completely self-taught. Through-out
the development of Amplifeye I have learnt (to excess I hasten
to add): HTML, PHP, MySQL, XML, Perl, Javascript, RSS, and DHTML.
The entire site is database driven using MySQL and PHP. All graphical
work is also undertaken by myself. I'm no artist but have a good
understanding of Adobe Photoshop enough to slap something together
:)
Amplifeye will continue to expand. I
have a whole variety of services I have as yet not implemented.
I hope that visitors will continue to support Amplifeye for as long as Amplifeye
supports live music!
